In low-temperature areas (especially where the temperature is below -10℃ in winter), it is necessary to take good anti-freezing and anti-cracking maintenance for door and window anti-fall chains. The measures are as follows:

  • Comprehensive inspection before the arrival of winter: Check whether there are slight cracks on the chains and connecting plates (the brittleness of metal increases at low temperatures, and cracks are easy to expand and cause breakage). If problems are found, replace them in time.
  • Lubrication and anti-icing: Apply anti-freezing lubricating oil (such as low-temperature gear oil) to the chain joints every 1-2 months. This not only reduces friction but also prevents water vapor from freezing at the joints (freezing expansion may cause component deformation).
  • Avoid residual water accumulation: After each rain or snow, wipe the moisture on the chain surface with a dry cloth, especially at the connecting gaps, to prevent freezing. If the chain is already frozen, do not pull it 强行 (which may cause brittle fracture). You can wait for it to melt naturally, then wipe it dry and apply lubricating oil.
  • Adaptation of material selection: In low-temperature areas, priority should be given to materials with good low-temperature toughness (such as 304 stainless steel, which is not easy to embrittle at low temperatures), and zinc alloys should be avoided (which are easy to break at low temperatures). When installing, choose locknuts (with nylon washers) to prevent screws from loosening due to low-temperature shrinkage.
